What Is Huza Network
Huza Network was established by two law firms based in Rwanda with the objective of leveraging their professional experience and networks to support the development of young lawyers. The initiative was founded in response to the persistent challenge of limited employment opportunities for young legal professionals in Rwanda, particularly among the youth.
Huza Network is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting legal excellence by providing young lawyers with access to soft skills training, professional networking opportunities, and internship and placement programs. The Network places strong emphasis on supporting female young lawyers and young lawyers with disabilities. Through these efforts, Huza seeks to ensure that Rwandaβs legal market benefits from well-equipped, competent, and talented young lawyers capable of delivering high-quality legal services.
Huza Network is anchored in Rwanda and supported by a Swiss non-profit association (Huza Network Switzerland). This enables international quality exchange and helps mobilise partners and funding β while the program delivery remains Rwanda-led.
Our programs
Internship placement program
Through internship placements, the Network connects these young lawyers with organizations both within and outside Rwanda, allowing them to gain hands-on experience as well as the necessary exposure. This provides young lawyers with practical experience opportunities.
The comprehensive program provides them with valuable work experience, skills training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Capacity Building Program
The Network goes beyond providing practical experience by offering comprehensive soft skills training in areas including, but not limited to, personal branding, communication, negotiation, teamwork, networking, and leadership. This training equips young lawyers with the essential professional competencies required to excel in the legal profession.
Domestic and International Mentorship program
We offer mentorship to young lawyers through our partnered, integrated online mentoring platform, SEED. Designed with a user-friendly interface and comprehensive functionality, the platform provides an immersive and dynamic mentoring experience that supports meaningful professional growth.
A key strength of the platform is its ability to connect participants with a diverse pool of mentors from both Rwanda and abroad. Through this centralized mentoring space, young lawyers can engage with experienced legal professionals while also benefiting from insights shared by mentors from other fields of expertise.
